The Gnocem used to be a peaceful race known as Pacaem who originally sought to make contact with the Earthlings so as to enrich their lives and advance their own technology. The Pacaem themselves lived peacefully and the last war happened eons ago, essentially making it ancient history. They decided that war was nothing but a terrible bloodshed and unnecessary, therefore establishing themselves as a true neutral state and pacifistic. How they managed to find that there were other species out there beside themselves was through sending their own spaceships to different planets within the galaxies. The planet that was most successful with finding different lifeforms was Earth. So, all of the conspiracy theorists over the years that thought and believed that alien life was, indeed, out there? They were right!

Their planet, known as Cotromia when translated to the English alphabet, can be described similar to Earth in terms of being able to sustain life on it, however their species as previously mentioned is vastly technologically superior in more ways than one. Due to the advancement, they virtually have no illnesses and their life spans go well into the thousands due to maintaining their planet and enriching their own lives so as to increase their own life spans. Males and females start out as completely gender neutral, as seen here before the males change into something like this while females transform into this. Elders and leaders look like this.

Cotromia itself is a carbon planet in a large solar system with fifteen other planets. It's about 23.5 times bigger than Earth and its' gravity is about three times that of Earth, meaning that it's not exactly crushing, but it's still pretty weighty. On the planet, a single day lasts about forty hours and a year lasts 650 days. There's many kinds of different lifeforms on their planet, which all live in harmony with one another or have accepted peace treaties so as to not disturb the peace that's been established on the planet itself.

How the Pacaem became the Gnocem is because of an invader who went by nothing but the title "Supreme Ruler." He saw the planet and the people in it as something to be ruled and it took him no time at all to do so. The Pacaem, due to being so pacifistic for so long, didn't have the weapons necessary to defeat him and they lost rather horribly as a result. He rules with an iron fist, has turned the previously neutral state of Cotromia into a dictatorship and proclaims that he is absolute; that his word is absolute law and must be obeyed. His appearance is nothing but domineering. He's much stronger than the Gnocem, Geo-Gnocem, Generals and Leaders combined with thousands of years of training under his belt, as well as sophisticated technology implanted within him and his suit of armor. He's the one responsible for forcing the Pacaem to accept his cybernetics, thus perverting them and their beliefs. Another thing is that he took control over all of the different lifeforms on the planet with his fantastic power, therefore making everyone on the planet bend to his will. He is nothing but cruel and dictatorial, wanting everything to go his way. He does not accept anything less than absolute perfection and sees what Vita does as an absolute nuisance, wanting to dispose of her quickly so that his fledgling kingdom isn't threatened. The Supreme Ruler's next target is Earth to eradicate not just her, but take over the planet and the people within.

The standard Gnocem are considered nothing more than mere foot soldiers and normally look like this. Their armor is fitted with a few laser guns as well as miscellaneous weapons in their arms and legs. Their eyes have been refitted with improved ocular scanners and have improved neural capabilities so that they're able to be more easily controlled as well as being able to think more clearly and logically. They're essentially the perfect soldiers due to how compliant they are to the Supreme Ruler's commands.

Some of them are completely unrecognizable due to heavy modification. They are known as the Geo-Gnocem. They look absolutely monstrous and frequently bully their lesser equivalents into doing their grunt work while they work primarily in the shadows. When they were mobilized, the Geo-Gnocem's main weapon, a modified halberd, is capable of producing great physical harm on their enemies and is able to outright kill their lesser species, AKA humans.

Those who ascended in the ranks were christened as Generals and Leaders. Their look is much sleeker than both the Gnocem and Geo-Gnocem. They commanded their troops to go after whoever opposed them. They're outfitted with multiple weapons inside of their armor and are significantly deadlier than the Gnocem and Geo-Gnocem combined. The Generals and Leaders are considered the eldest of the Gnocem as the corruption reached them first. It's much harder to purify them because of how deep seated the darkness really is. Also, it's possible for those who prove their worth by how well they perform at their orders to the best of their abilities or an impressive kill count could also rise in the ranks to become a General.

The Gnocem are usually sent in squads to the Earth. The most numerous are the Gnocem, then a few Geo-Gnocem, and rarely are Generals and Leaders deployed unless if they are absolutely needed. They usually like to attack en masse and will go after women, children and the elderly as their commands say that these people are the "weakest" of the species. However, it's rare for any of them to be seriously harmed as Hikaru's usually deployed rather quickly once the alarms sound. The process that they go through to be purified usually happens by surrounding them completely with pure magical energy to strip away the changes done to them. While it's not exactly painless, it's more than enough to overpower the control that's currently ensnaring their minds.

When the Gnocem are reverted into Pacaem, they're brought into the PIPE's main headquarters to be checked out for injuries, whether they be physical, mental, emotional or even spiritual. Then, once they're cleared by medical professionals who have specialized in Pacaem physiology, they're given political asylum since it's well known that they're being manipulated and the PIPE prides themselves on not stripping away their rights. Also, the Pacaem are given housing that's similar to their own world and even citizenship. The Pacaem are immensely grateful for this, even if they miss their own planet, since it gives them a chance to recuperate and also help bolster the PIPE's defenses that much more so that no stone is left unturned. They do this also because they want to save their friends and their own planet from falling into a destructive path, so it comes to no surprise why they willingly decide to become a part of the PIPE's defenses instead of clashing with them again over this. Not only this, but this is all practice for when the end of the war between the Gnocem and the Earth finally happens, which the people of Earth hope that it happens sooner rather than later.
